Throughout history the Catholic Church has been at the forefront of creativity.

We want to see the Church flourishing with people who are experts in their craft, creating experiences and opportunities of encounter that lift peoples hearts to God. Join us in a 6 month program of practical skills and creative formation as we dive deep into 3 areas that are sorely needed in today’s Church.

Okay cool, but how?

We are running a 6 month internship program in 3 streams: Worship, Media and Production. You will get to work with Catholic designers, videographers, worship leaders, musicians and live production technicians in a series of practical learning sessions, real world projects and all-in formation nights. You will journey personally with the people behind Emmanuel Worship, Ignite Conference and Emmanuel Sundays. By the end of the program, our dream is that you’ll be equipped to continue serving and building up the Church in the areas that you’re passionate about.

What’s the commitment?

About 3 hours a fortnight. Every month there will be 2 things to be present for, an all-in Creative Night and a 2 hour Practical class in your stream. There will also be a monthly real-world project to work on that will vary in time spent from month to month and depending on what streams you’re in.

Worship Stream

This stream is run by Emmanuel Worship. Whether you are a seasoned worship leader, or a beginner instrumentalist looking to learn more about worship, this is the stream for you. We will be covering music theory for worship, Mass, songwriting and much more. This is a suitable stream for vocalists, instrumentalists and those clever people who can sing and play at the same time.

Media Stream

In today’s world it’s often not enough to only know one particular creative field. Whether it’s photography, digital art, design or video, our creative tools and mediums require us to have a basic knowledge of a whole bunch of different fields, and in this stream we will focus on a different field each month learning the basics and seeing how a broad knowledge of creative fields helps us immensely in creating incredible media for the Church.

Production Stream

While they don’t often get the spotlight, the key to any incredible Church event is the technical stuff that goes on behind the scenes. We don’t want to be a Church that just hires in the experts, we want to be a Church that grows and nourishes a culture of exquisite live production talent. The three key areas we are going to cover are lighting, vision operation and audio production. Whether you are an expert or never touched a sound desk, if you’re keen to grow and build this area - this is the stream for you.
