Prayer and Sacraments

You are invited to join with members and friends of Emmanuel Community when we gather for Eucharist, Sacraments, worship and prayer.  There are a variety of ways in which we meet each month and throughout the year.  In our prayer and communal celebrations, we seek to exercise the charisms which God has given us and offer a contemporary and dynamaic experience of worship.

The celebration of the Emmanuel Eucharist is the focal point of our community life and the centre of our celebration of the Lord’s Day.  It is both the summit and the source of our identity and the strength for our mission.  We celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday mornings, 10:15am at St Mary Magdalene's Church, Cecil Rd, Bardon (NB there are some exceptions to this, including the third Sunday of the month when Fuel is held in the evening).

In addition to the weekly Eucharist, the Community celebrates the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent and Advent, as well as during a number of our ministry events.  Emmanuel has also been given the privilege of celebrating the Sacraments of Initiation by the Archbishop.

We also meet twice a month for a Community Gathering, which visitors are welcome to participate in.  The Community Gatherings are an opportunity for the whole of the Community to come together to worship, to receive teaching,  to maintain a vision and fellowship, and to keep us in touch with the prophetic direction of Emmanuel.
